Step 1 - Know your GC Key
To apply online application for your visa, first of all you will need to have your GC Key as a references and to determine are you eligible to come to Canada. First thing first will need to open up the official government of Canada website which the link is below:
1- Click on the "Immigration" > "Visit"
2- Click the section "Visit as tourist" > "Apply to visit Canada as a tourist"
3- On the page scroll down little bit a click the "Apply online for a visitor visa'
4- Click "Determine your eligibility and apply online" button
5- Click "Check your eligibility"
6- Complete all the survey until you received your GC Key after completion
Step 2 - Sign Up
Congratulation, you received and eligible to come to Canada. Now lets proceed by signing up your username and password. Using the same link I given on the step 1. If they ask your for your GC Key please remember and put your GC Key that you already received in the step 1.
1- Click "Immigration" > " My application"
2- Click "Create an account or sign in" section
3- Scroll down until you find "Continue to GC Key" button
4- Sign up with your username and password, (password at least one word should capitalize)
5- Sign in your username and password
6- Under section "what you like to do today" click apply for "visitor visa, study and/or work permit
7- Enter the references code(GC Key)
8- Complete your application
Step 3 - Upload your Document
After completion your application form, you will be ask for your document to be upload. From there they will tell you what to be upload. After the uploaded your document the bottom page will appear for make a payment. Notes: you will need an update adobe reader to read and fill up the form. Click existing highlight to know what field only you to fill up. For the first form that need to be upload, you will need validate your form. The validation form will be success only if you fill up correctly and the bar code also will appear.
Step 4 - Payment
For the processing fee, you can use debit card or credit card. The fee for processing fee is 100 CAD. For MYR it depends on the currency between MYR and CAD in the market. Around 340+ MYR for the processing fee during my time applying the application plus the processing charge.
Step 5 - Waiting
During this stage, you will receive a few notification in your email regarding your application status. For the whole process it takes 22 days, so plan your visit before buying ticket flights. For me during the application, it takes 10 working days until they ask you sent your passport physically at VFS Global at Floor 19, Wisma Mca, 163, Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. If you are represent for your friends or family please also please bring consent form from VFS Global website and cash amounted 93 MYR for the processing fee for each applicant.Step 6 - Voila
Congratulation to you if you are received call or email regarding on collecting your passport and enjoy your trip to Canada. It takes minimum 5 days to collect back or receive a notification from VFS Global because the only Canada embassy in Malaysia is at Singapore.
